While you weren’t looking, collegiate women’s basketball has gone about bringing in some of the sharpest operations personnel in athletics. Christina Gilbert is just another example of the kind of person that schools like the University of Missouri-Kansas City have charged with helping to add efficiency and organization to their teams and department.
In this episode Christina discusses her start as a scholarship college basketball player at South Dakota State, studying graphic design, her grad studies at the University of Minnesota, her work in event management, working in the private sector in athletic operations, the transition to collegiate athletic operations, the traits of a good operations person, learning the needs and desires of the coaching staff, and her new role on the Teamworks Basketball Leadership Committee.
