Arkansas track faces logistics challenge |

All in a day’s work for an Ops person. Kudos to Megan Elliot!

FAYETTEVILLE — Keeping up with the University of Arkansas track and field programs won’t be easy this outdoor season weekend.

Coach Chris Bucknam’s Razorbacks men have their sprinters, hurdlers and field events folks coached by Doug Case and Travis Geopfert at the Baylor hosted Michael Johnson Invitational Friday and Saturday in Waco, Texas while Bucknam coaches his distance runners at the Mount Sac Invitational in Walnut, Calif.

Meanwhile for the women, Coach Lance Harte and his distance crew, sprints/horizontal jumps coach Chris Johnson and vault coach Bryan Compton and their athletes are all over the map in Lawrence, Kan., Baton Rouge, La. Walnut, Calif. and Palo Alto, Calif.

“Yeah, this is the logistics challenge to Megan Elliott, our director of operations,” Harter said. “We have our vaulters (All-American twins Lexi (Weeks) Jacobus and Tori (Weeks) Hoggard going to the Kansas Relays right up the road). Then we have our sprint crew going to LSU. Then Taylor Werner is going to the Mount Sac Relays to run the 10,000, and then Taylor and I will then meet the rest of the distance crew at Stanford (in Palo Alto) and complete the weekend. So yes, we’re hither and yon.”
